To kick off the firm’s first 2023 fundraiser for Maggie’s and the Glendrick Roost Animal Welfare Centre, our charity committee held a Bake Off last week. The office star bakers created a whole host of delicious treats which helped raise just under £200 for the charities close to our hearts.
National Careers Week runs from 6th to 11th March this year making now a perfect time to reflect on life as a trainee solicitor. While I and my fellow trainees across the profession are only starting out in what we all hope to be long and successful careers, there is an underlying sense that these two years are an indispensable opportunity to learn as much as possible before being released into the big bad world as qualified solicitor.
The Scottish Government is currently consulting on potential proposals to restrict the promotion and advertisement of alcohol. There has already been pushback from companies in the drinks sector on the detrimental effects this could have on the trade, as it could heavily restrict advertising and promotion of alcohol.
