Miller Samuel Hill Brown are delighted to announce our new charity partnership with Maggie’s. Through our employee-led charity committee, MSHB regularly raises funds for a wide variety of organisations. This year staff voted to support Maggie’s to help in the charity’s efforts to provide support for people living with cancer and their families.
Since February 2022, all homes in Scotland are required by law to have installed interlinked smoke alarms as well as adequate Carbon Monoxide protection. The legislation was introduced in response to the Grenfell Tower disaster and applies to all homeowners and landlords. The legislation was due to come into force in 2021 but was delayed due to Covid which affected the supply chain of new alarms.
The sharp rise in energy costs has undoubtedly been one the major talking points of 2022 so far. The hike in prices has not only been felt by home-owners, but also by commercial property proprietors and tenants alike. With no sign of energy prices falling, the energy efficiency of commercial buildings is becoming an increasingly important consideration when buying, selling or leasing.
Mother’s Day gives families the opportunity to show their appreciation for their mums and show them how special they really are - although arguably we should be doing this all year round!
