In a recent blog, we discussed a case which concluded that vegetarianism did not amount to a philosophical belief for the purposes of the Equality Act 2010. In the last week, it has been reported that the employment tribunal in the case of Casamitjana v League Against Cruel Sports concluded that ethical veganism is capable of being a protected philosophical belief.
Children everywhere are devastated this year after discovering Santa Claus is to be investigated by the ICO for being in breach of the GDPR. An anonymous complaint noted Mr Claus has been making a list of children’s names and addresses and ‘checking it twice’. He had also expressed an intention to find out who had been ‘naughty and nice’.
On Christmas morning, children all over the world rush downstairs to see if the man in the red suit has paid them a visit. Parents are filled with joy at the look on their children’s’ faces, while they open the gifts they’ve sought after all year.

In recent years the Scottish Government has observed that GPs are being discouraged from joining GP partnerships, in large part due to the various liabilities associated with owning and operating GP premises. In November 2017, the Scottish Government attempted to address the issue by publishing a new “Code of Practice for GP Premises”.
