Michael is a founding Partner of the pre-merged firm of Miller Samuel, establishing the firm in 1973. He retired from private practice at the end of 2021 after 50 years with the firm as a Partner and, more recently, a Consultant to the firm. He specialised in all aspects of private client work and is a recognised expert in his field.
While no longer practising as a solicitor, Michael will remain closely connected with the firm for the foreseeable future. He remains a well-known and highly regarded member of the legal and business community.
Michael is a former Director of the International Lawyers Network, is a Director of Children’s Classic Concerts, Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland, The Merchants House of Glasgow, and is a Trustee of Queens Park Charitable Trust.
For twenty two years, Michael was Chairman of Glasgow Solicitors Property Centre Ltd (GSPC). In addition, he is a past Dean of the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow and a former member of the Council, past Convenor of the Law Society of Scotland Business of Conveyancing Committee, and a past Vice Convenor and member of the Law Society of Scotland Property Law Committee. He is also a former Chairman of the Western Club, Glasgow.
