Miller Samuel Hill Brown Welcomes New Team Members Across Key Practice Areas

Miller Samuel Hill Brown is delighted to announce the appointment of four new legal professionals as the firm continues to strengthen its expertise across key practice areas.

The appointments reflect the firm’s continued strategic growth and ongoing investment in delivering high-quality legal services to individuals, families, and businesses across Scotland.

Joining the firm are:

  • Jennifer Cowan, Associate in Licensing, who brings over 15 years of experience advising a diverse client base. Jennifer is recognised for her practical and responsive approach and also brings additional expertise in human rights, inquiry work, and notarial services.
  • Laura Shields, Associate in Commercial Property, who advises landlords, housing providers, private investors, and commercial clients on a broad range of transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, development sites, and leasing matters.
  • Erin Doherty, Associate in Commercial Property, who specialises in commercial property, advising clients on a range of transactions including acquisitions, disposals, and leasing.
  • Laura Cousins, Senior Family Law Solicitor, who has extensive experience handling complex family law matters, including divorce, child care disputes, and residence cases. Laura is particularly recognised for her trauma-informed approach and strong advocacy in Sheriff Courts across Scotland.

These appointments further strengthen the firm’s capabilities across licensing, commercial property, and family law at a time of increasing demand for specialist legal advice.
